dear brothers and sisters, pray for us. (1 Thes. 5:25)

A new year is beginning! If you wander through the Greek System you can feel the excitement. Fraternity brothers outside, music blasting as they clean their houses with racks, paint-brushes, garbage sacks in hand. Sorority Sisters losing their voices practicing door chants, taking dozens of pictures and welcoming new women into their chapters. There is a buzz in the air. There is so much hope and potential for a year unlike any other.

Yet, we all know that eventually the newness fades and excitement is drowned out by the steady rain and piling up of stresses. We know that darkness creeps in and fights to hold its ground. As I spent time walking and praying through streets neighboring UPC, I was so aware of the need for prayer, the need for a team of people praying. There is so much the Lord wants to redeem, so much life and freedom.

One of the greatest joys in life is in participating in His redemption. I feel honored to invite you to partner in prayer with the Greek Team as we seek to be the Lord's hands and feet.

We have an incredible team this year. Over 70 students on student leadership this year, with a majority Greek.
-Pray for the redemption of the Greek System. That truth and hope of Christ would reign and each student to see hope of Christ and feel his love in a way that would transform them.
-Pray for students roots to grow deep into the love of Christ and draw upon him for their foundation, worth and truth.
-Pray for Chris Thurton (new Greek MInistry intern) and myself, for wisdom, peace and trust as we look to serve and lead students.

So, I echo the prayer of Paul and ask you, dear brothers and sisters, pray for us.
